Anyone who's ever gone on a road trip with the kids knows the value of a good SUV. Trust us, because we here at East Coast Honda know it all too well. Back before you had yourself a family, back when you and your better half were still basking in the glory days of being young and in love, a new or used car was all you really needed. Cram your luggage into the trunk, throw the rest in the backseat, break out the CD binder and head for Route 66. But then your beautiful kids came along, and before you knew it, you started having terrors about that inevitable road trip to Disneyland.

It's a hard realization to come to, but one that becomes whole lot easier to process with the right SUV in mind. For instance: Honda's new Urban SUV Concept.

Recently debuted at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the yet-to-be-named vehicle is a new crossover said to be based on the Honda Fit. In addition to its stylish exterior that likes a Honda Accord after a long day of pumping iron, the Urban SUV Concept will also come standard with a 1.5-liter I4 engine, continuously variable transmission, and next-gen telematics on the interior. Just one more big step in the right direction towards Honda's goal of remaining the global leader in small-car sales.

Reported to be lower in cost and size than the Honda CR-V, the Urban SUV Concept will likely release sometime in Q1 2014 after the launch of Honda's new assembly plant in Celaya, Mexico. But if you can't put off the road trip and you don't to feel like Clark Griswold the whole time, then come see East Coast Honda at 8756 A Highway 17 Bypass South Myrtle Beach,  SC 29588 to test drive one of our many family-friendly Hondas today.
