As drivers and consumers within the automotive industry become more fuel conscious, the notion of "bigger is better" doesn't necessarily apply anymore. This is why automakers have begun placing more focus and emphasis on fuel-efficient sedans and smaller options for drivers.
A shining example of the recent shift in the automotive industry is the refreshed 2013 Honda Fit. The new compact city hatchback is designed to catch the attention of car buyers looking for something like the Honda Civic but with a little less bulk.
With Honda in hopes of gaining more of a stronghold within the compact segment, the automaker is prepared to release two new popular body styles to the Fit family. Being built at the new Honda manufacturing facility in Mexico, Honda is expecting to put a Honda Fit sedan and Fit crossover to go into production then for sale in both the U.S. and Mexico by 2014.
While details surrounding the new Honda Fit models aren't firm enough yet, we at East Coast Honda can tell you that the Honda Fit crossover should look something along the lines of the bigger, more aggressive Brazil-based Fit Twist.
