2026 Honda Passport vs. the Competition: Which Two-Row Midsize SUV Wins in Myrtle Beach?
If you want an SUV that's just as good at muscling through rough weather and terrain as it is for your daily commute in Myrtle Beach, get the 2026 Honda Passport. This two-row midsize SUV provides polished handling and a spacious, tech-rich interior. Other similar-sized crossovers like the Nissan Murano and Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport also offer seating for five, but they fall short of the 2026 Honda Passport in a few areas that matter most. East Coast Honda proudly presents the following comparisons to help you make your own decision.
Performance
You'll have plenty of power for passing other vehicles on the highways around Charleston in the 2026 Honda Passport. Its 3.5-liter V6 engine produces 285 horsepower for quick acceleration when needed. All-wheel drive is standard in the 2026 Honda Passport, and TrailSport models offer all-terrain tires, underbody skid plates, and upgraded suspensions for conquering challenging conditions outside Lumberton.
The Nissan Murano's four-cylinder engine only makes 241 horsepower, while the Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport generates just 269 horsepower from its four-cylinder powertrain. The Murano also comes with all-wheel drive, but low ground clearance and a lack of underbody protection limit its off-road capability. The Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport only has 6.3 inches of ground clearance, so it's not designed to venture far beyond pavement.
Interior
The 2026 Honda Passport has a spacious, upscale cabin with standard leather and cloth upholstery. Wilmington drivers will appreciate that it has over 83 cubic feet of cargo space to store their camping gear or shopping bags with the rear seats folded. A standard power liftgate makes it a cinch for Bennettsville buyers to load.
The Nissan Murano has an inviting interior with standard leatherette seats. However, it maxes out at 63.5 cubic feet of cargo room with the rear seats down. The VW Atlas Cross Sport's cabin is attractively designed, but it only has 77.6 cubic feet of total cargo space.
