If the environment is a topic of special concern to you, you’ll be interested to learn more about Honda’s, “Blue Skies for our Children” initiative. It focuses on the creation of advanced technologies in the areas of both the environment and energy concerns.
Honda was honored to receive ENERGY STAR certifications for three U.S. plants recently by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Energy certification, through this department, can be a long process. There are several steps, each of which must be documented and backed up. In fact, eight steps all together make up the certification process. Everything from assembling an initial team to work on the process, setting an energy performance goal, tracking the company’s efforts, along with an application and several others are part of the requirements.
In Ohio, two of Honda’s automobile manufacturing plants earned the EPAs ENERGY STAR certification for the 10th annual year. In addition to that, Honda Manufacturing of Indiana LLC has been certified for the past four years.
Continuing ones certification means coming up with new and innovative technologies and processes to continue meeting guidelines set forth by the EPA. Honda is proud of the hard work involved on the part of all three of these plants.
