The United Kingdom's leading provider for automotive, motorcycle, and industrial batteries is Yuasa Battery Sales. This company has sponsored the Honda Racing Team since 2009. Recently, Yuasa Battery Sales led on that that the company would like to extend their partnership with Honda. This involves a 3-year exclusive contract that will transform the Honda Racing team's image.
How exactly will this contract transform Honda Racing? Well, this change won't be too drastic. Now, the Honda Racing team will be referred to as Honda Yuasa Racing. The incorporation of the Yuasa brand name into the team title suggests that Yuasa Battery Sales has become a quite a stronger investor in the Honda Racing team. Well, that of course begs us to ask, how much exactly has this company invested in Honda Yuasa Racing?
Unfortunately, however, we don't have these numbers. Both companies have kept the financial aspect of this deal under tight wraps. What we do know, however, is that their investment was large enough that the two unveiled a new racer built on the Honda Civic platform and built in the company's iconic Swindon plant in the U.K. Featuring a white paintjob with red Tuasa decals, the Civic racer was unveiled with the help of veteran drivers Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal.
