Honda feels as though every child deserves to participate in sports because it's healthy and helps them learn the value of sportsmanship and teamwork. Perhaps that is why the Japanese automaker has partnered with Little League Baseball and Softball for over a decade.

Over the past 15 years, Honda has collaborated with the Urban Initiative, which is the association that developed the Little League Baseball and Softball program. This organization did this in an effort to provide children in urban areas with the rewarding experience and developmental benefits of participating in sports. Honda's collaboration with Urban Initiative, has allowed them to donate roughly $800,000 to this program. Tens-of-thousands of children have benefited from this and have been able to participate in the Little League Baseball and Softball program. Honda's contrition this year will go towards renovating select town's playing field.

East Coast Honda would also like to note that Honda does more than contribute funds to the Little League Baseball and Softball program. They raise awareness about it. For example, last year, the Japanese automaker hosted the 2011 Honda Double Play Giveaway, in which they invited Little League fans to submit pin designs. The two winning entrants were then awarded $5,000 in funds to give to the qualifying Little League team of their choice.

Such efforts represent the giving core of Honda. Kids from the inner cities see it by enjoying what we would likely take for granted - a simple game of ball. And drivers like us see it too, through the standard technologies they include in their models - technologies that go above and beyond their competitors'.
