At East Coast Honda we enjoy keeping our Myrtle Beach drivers caught up on Honda's most recent improvements, new 2012 models and sophisticated safety technologies. On the other hand, we do believe that it is our responsibility to inform you when things to go as planned. All automakers make a fair amount of mistakes. We believe that we should discuss issues out in the open and keep our drivers updated.
Recently Honda stated that they were conducting a voluntary recall for some 2005-2010 4-cylinder Honda CR-V, Accord, and 2005-2008 Honda Element models. The purpose of the recall is to improve the software that controls the automatic transmission. If you are the owner of one of these models and do not bring it to a Honda dealership (i.e., East Coast Honda located at 8756 A Highway 17 Bypass South Myrtle Beach, South Carolina 29588), the automatic transmission secondary shaft bearing risks damage from aggressive shifting that may be employed to dislodge the vehicle from mud or snow. Damage can result in the engine stalling or challenges putting the CUVs into park.
In a recent press release, Honda writes, "Honda is announcing this recall to encourage all owners of affected vehicles to take their vehicles to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification of this recall from Honda."1 Honda will begin mailing official recall notifications at the end of the month.
If you have any further questions regarding this voluntary Honda recall, please feel free to call East Coast Honda today. We are more than happy to inform you on any further details and answer any of your questions.
