What is Lane Departure Warning?

Last time here on the blog, we talked about Honda Sensing and all the suite of features that makes up this safety technology. Now, we'd like to go into more detail about each of those features and how they help to keep you safe! First up is Lane Departure Warning.

What is Lane Departure Warning?

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature that detects if you're leaving the confines of your lane unintentionally and alerts you about it. Then, you can correct your path and stay inside your lane safely.

How Does it Work?

A camera mounted high on the windshield captures a moving view of the road and scans for solid and dashed lines; as soon as you get too close or drive over the lines on either side, the camera will notice and alert you with a flash and a sound to get your attention.

To learn more about the LDW feature and even experience it for yourself, come out to see us here at East Coast Honda today. You'll find this technology on many of our new Honda models, so take your time and find the one that appeals to all of your wants and needs.
