Dear Mr. Smith/East Coast Honda:
I wanted to take a moment to send you an email detailing my recent experience at East Coast Honda in Myrtle Beach. I'm sure that you get your fair share of emails and correspondence that are critical and negative so I wanted to take the time to send a positive one.
I was on vacation last week when my 2002 Accord started acting funny and my check engine light came on (in the middle of 17 by Barefoot Landing during the dinner rush!). Since I was quite far from my Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania home, I felt the best place to contact was a Honda dealer. Your service department was able to see me very quickly. Irwin Cumberbatch handled the service of my Accord. He was wonderful even when he had to deliver the BAD news that my transmission needed replaced. After careful consideration and quite a few tears, Irwin was able to direct me to a salesman to buy a new vehicle. This was a decision that I was able to make much easier due to his complete presentation of all the information I needed about the cost and time frame that would be necessary to repair my car. He directed me to Rusty MacDonald.
Rusty along with Scott Proctor were absolutely tremendous. I really can't think of enough words to say how much they impressed me! They listened carefully to what I wanted (silver Pilot EXL, 4WD with RES 2009) and a few other choices that I would be OK with including a 2010. Their teamwork, professionalism and compassion made a very difficult experience quite painless. My biggest worry was that I was going to be taken advantage of because I couldn't drive away in my own car. That was a needless worry looking back at my experience with Rusty and Scott. They went above and beyond the call of duty to get my first choice and with a deal I felt comfortable with. Scott even went as far as providing me with the use of a car to drive so that my vacation could continue SAFELY. Within 2 days I was in my new vehicle. Jason Lynch also played an important role in completing all the warrenty and financial stuff in a timely and considerate manner.
I am thrilled with my new Pilot. This experience has made for quite a story, one that could have turned out very bad but turned out with a great ending!
So, in closing, I again want to thank you for the wonderful experience of buying a car (something I never would have dreamed I would do while on vacation) at East Coast Honda. Please recognize the outstanding efforts of your staff, Irwin and Jason but particularly Rusty and Scott. They deserve to be commended for making my experience a positive one. I have been telling everyone in Pittsburgh about it! Word-of-mouth always helps a business even if it is from 600 miles away.

Hey Sunshine (Michael)...Gotta tell ya -- I LOVE THAT CRV I am happy as a little clam in it .. Drives more comfortably, handles wonderfully, Ben is much much less anxious and actually fell asleep on the front seat (a modern miracle!), mileage hovers around 30, and functionally is terrific for loading and unloading my "food stuff." Love the vehicle.And, Gus and Lena told me their referral check arrived today ....
